The Field of Honor (R) is part of the Colonial Flag foundation. The Pawleys Island and Georgetown Kiwanis Club Field of Honor started in 2020, as a new fundraiser. By hosting these displays, it transforms fields into powerful symbols of gratitude, remembrance, and unity. Each flag represents respect for the men and women who have served, protected, and sacrificed – often at great personal cost – for our freedom and safety. Because of you, countless families, neighbors, and visitors are reminded of the true meaning of service.

Individuals, families and companies can sponsor a flag in honor of a veteran or first responder. An opening and closing ceremony are held each year, the flags are displayed for approximately 5 weeks, from early November to mid December. We have been fortunate enough to have partnered with International Paper to display the flags on the field in front of their main building in Georgetown. Rows upon rows of flags are displayed with a tag on each flag containing information about the veteran/first responder or group of veterans they are dedicated to. All are welcome to walk through the flags, read names, listen to and share their stories of themselves, family members, friends and others who have given in many different ways to afford us the freedom to celebrate our flag. All monies raised from sponsored flags provides college scholarships to deserving Georgetown county youth. After the closing ceremony, anyone wishing to take their sponsored flag is free to do so, or they may be donated back to Kiwanis to be used the following year.

Business Sponsorships

Organizations or companies can be an event sponsor and receive flag(s) to honor a veteran (s) of your choosing. The Field of Honor will include a 3 X 5 feet American flag. You are invited to sponsor anyone you would like to honor/remember with one of these keepsake flags. Your honoree and sponsor name will be displayed on a tag with each flag. Major sponsors will be identified with on-site signage and advertisement in our program.
