Covering Kiwanis year Oct 1, 2019-Sept 30, 2020
We welcomed 8 new members after holding our first ever Door2Door Campaign. Awarded scholarships to WHS Key Clubbers Sydney Baker and Emily Myers. Participated in the Wooden Boat Show Corrugated Boat Regatta, along with the WHS Key Club. We sank, they didn’t. Adopted Sandy Island Road and collected school supplies and stuffed animals. Our Literacy Project topped 7-thousand books. We lost long-time member Dan Shaw.
With all of the roadblocks we continue to move ahead improving the world, one child and one community at a time.
Thanks to Fred for weathering the storm as this past Kiwanis year was unique. Six months of normal in person operation and 6 months of the new normal.
Our last fundraiser was the Pancake Supper/Silent Auction in October 2019 and our last in person weekly meeting was last March.
Good luck Fred as you move on to heading up the Georgetown Club for the next year. (Fred will not be leaving us, just doing double duty).
Karin (lower right) will be taking over officially on Oct 1 and welcoming new board members Carol (left) and Teena (upper right).
Our first time at the Corrugated Boat Regatta.
We held our first virtual meeting on April 2, 2020.
