The Kiwanis family includes members of all ages and abilities. In addition to Kiwanis clubs for adults who serve kids, we offer Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs or SLPs for short. We like to refer to them as little Kiwanis Club’s for future leaders and hopefully future Kiwanians. Our SLPs are Key Club International for high school students, Circle K International for college and university students, K-Kids for elementary school students, Builders Club for middle school students and Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.
Pawleys Island Kiwanis currently is involved in sponsoring the following clubs and leadership initiatives:
Key Club
Key Club is a student-led high school organization. Our members make the world a better place through service. In doing so, they grow as individuals and as leaders by answering the call to lead, summoning the courage to engage and developing the heart to serve. We currently have Key Clubs in Waccamaw and Carvers Bay.
Aktion Club

Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 10,000 members worldwide. Club members become competent, capable, caring leaders through the vehicle of service. Our Aktion sponsored club is comprised of adults with disabilities from both Pawleys Island and Georgetown.
K-Kids

K-Kids is the largest service organization for elementary school students, with more than 1,200 clubs worldwide. Club members discover their passion to serve, desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others. We currently have k-kids clubs in Waccamaw elementary.
K Leader Program
Our experiential leadership program empowers students ages 14-18 to become caring and confident leaders, with a curriculum that focuses on service leadership. The curriculum features modules on six principles: leadership, integrity, personal growth, respect, community and pursuit of excellent. The experience includes full group sessions led by a trained facilitator and small discussion groups.
Terrific Kids
Our character-building program recognizes students for modifying their behavior, with goals and peer mentoring that encourage kids to become the best version of themselves. Participants determine what being terrific means to them, then develop their own goals and use peer mentoring to hold themselves accountable for their actions each week. When a participant achieves their goal, they’re honored for being a Terrific Kid!
We are always looking for volunteers, who can help coordinate new clubs with the local schools.
